I wanted to share my first "fun" (as opposed to my weekly selection of research articles and textbook sections for my graduate studies) read of Summer 2021 – "When Harry Met Minnie" by CBS Sunday Morning correspondent Martha Teichner. While I had glanced at a short "spoiler-type" article on the book posted on The New York Times website – I must say – it was a touching tribute to both the main characters (bull terriers Harry and Minnie) AND the friendship between their owners Martha Teichner and Carol Fertig. I didn't want the book to end. It is a wonderful New York story (sidenote: I never tire of watching "You've Got Mail") about how a chance encounter changes the author's life for the better – and even more amazing is that it is true, even if as the author states "the happily-ever-after part is messy." If you need a book to start off your end-of-summer or early fall reading – definitely give this one a try!
